Assets The Regional Video Library archives include a vast collection of material gathered by the L'Aquila Film Institute "La Lanterna Magica" and are available to the general public and individuals in the film industry. The Video Library has the following sections: VIDEO LIBRARY: The collection includes 4000 videocassettes of films, documentaries, animated films dating back to the introduction of cinema, filmographies of important directors (such as Fellini, Truffaut, Spielberg, Altman, Kubrick, De Sica, Rossellini and others), major feature films of historical importance, films in their original language, short films and theatrical performances. DVD: The library has 1000 DVDs which include important titles available in this new format. DVD provides high quality audiovisuals, multilingual audio, and extra material such as trailers, backstage, interviews and documentary material. MILAN FILM FESTIVAL TRUST: 3000 videocassettes were donated to the L'Aquila Film Institute by the Milan Film Festival. The films are from all over the world and were all screened at the film festival which ran for six years. PASQUALE PRUNAS FILM LIBRARY TRUST: This is an archive of 200 films made between the 1940s - 1960s (U-matic). AUDIOVISIVO ARCHIVE: This collection includes 500 cassettes (VHS, Beta, digital, U-matic, Hi8) and 200 audiocassettes documenting seminars and workshops dating back to 1982. LIBRARY: The library has 2500 books on cinema (catalogues, monographs, essays), multi-media, communication, arts administration and finance, visual arts, theatre, literature and moving images in general. JOURNALS: The library has a collection of film journals and subscriptions to major national and international newspapers. STILL PHOTOGRAPHS: A unique collection of 50,000 photographs (prints and slides), covering the major events and initiatives organised by the Institute which involve leading figures in the film industry. |
